Mr. Herbert W. Armstrong Was right!

He fulfilled the prophecy of the end time Elijah spoken of in the book Malachi. He was a voice crying out in the wilderness of modern day religious confusion, God used him to restore the basic foundational doctrines taught by Jesus Christ to the Apostles.  What H.W.A. taught was Truth!  Click  "PLAY" below  (Sermon by Ronald W. Dear Friend:

We live in a very stressful world today. Seems with all the innovations of our modern society we never have a chance to meditate on the wonders of God, and His great love for us.  I remember when I was a child I would visit my grandfather, and after supper, we would sit on his back porch. He would light his pipe, pour a large class of wine, and just stare out into his garden. He was content with the world. He lived a long healthy life, passing away at 95.

This hectic life we live today is another of the signs that we are coming closer to the end of this Church age as prophesied in the Bible. "But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end; many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase."  Dan 12:4. We may be living in a dangerous time if we have become so worried about the physical, that we have lost that close contact with our creator.

God warned us to remember that He is our provider. Our physical effort can only provide so much of our needs without us becoming so stressed working to keep up with the all the items we long for in this life. God says, "Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?" Matt 6:25. He tells us not to be overly concerned about striving for worldly needs. "So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin" Matt 6:28. God claims He takes care of His children's needs, if we just put Him first in our lives, and all will be well. "Therefore do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?'  For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.  But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you". Matt 6:31-33.

If we remember who supplies our daily bread, the clothes that we wear, the homes we live in, and especially our good health and wellbeing, then the stress of life will not be so overwhelming. So as to not cause us unhappiness that keeps us distracted from all the Creator provides us. This worry produces stress by always lusting for more and more, which , in the end, causes us concern, but not happiness. We must know who it is that provides for us, and never forget that or we will live a life of constant anxiety. God promises us all we need for a truly happy life if we are looking to Him for the abundant life. "And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus." Phil 4:19.

It all depends on our priorities in life. Laodiceans are rich and increased with goods, because that is their main goal in life. Philadelphian's main priority must be the truth of God, and then those things that are really important will be provided them. If your priorities are right with God, He will provides everything your heart desires. "Delight yourself also in the LORD, And He shall give you the desires of your heart." Ps 37:4. We can get so busy "getting", that we may forget to give to our Father His time. It is the Father that provides for His family. We may work so hard to fulfill our needs we forget to take time to sit down in our rocking chair, on our back porch, and spend some time talking to God about our real needs. Taking time with God getting our mind of all our massive list of wants. God will always provide for those who are His children, never forget that. The Psalmist writes, "I have been young, and now am old; Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, Nor his descendants begging bread." Ps 37:25.

November 14 2018:

Dear Friend:

In the latter years of Mr. Herbert W. Armstrong’s life, the membership of the Worldwide Church of God numbered into the multiple thousands worldwide, up to about 1986. There were congregations in many major cities spread across the United States and throughout the world. The individual churches kept everyone busy in those years, with all of the family-style activities like picnics, hiking, campouts, combined Holy Day services, Spokesman clubs, Y.O.U. groups, and many, many other activities.

We had friends and relatives clustered around us, and we felt safe and secure with a large support group. Furthermore, we had respect for our ministers (who were set on a pedestal), for they were our immediate authority figures who had a direct effect on our lives. Our local minister was the one we called in the middle of the night with all our problems. And perhaps we leaned on them more than we should.

For years, Mr. Armstrong warned that a falling away was coming. We all believed, or seemed to believe, that this encompassed a falling away from the Church. And so it was! But it was more than falling away from the Church – It was a falling away or a defection from the truth. The Apostasy was the cause of the falling away from the truth of God by many thousands of members and hundreds of ministers! No one expected that falling away would happen the way that it did! It took us all by surprise.

Since the death of Mr. Armstrong, many Church members just walked away, while some stayed in the parent organization. Where did many of the scattered brethren go? It can be seen they went where their friends went; where their relatives, their pastor, and where the vast majority in numbers went. They left and went away, reasoning to themselves that all these people, and the ministry, just couldn’t be wrong! Brethren, everywhere, went where the numbers were, to continue the church activities, the fellowshipping, being concerned about keeping families and relationships together. Searching for a place where there were other children for their children to play with, in short – to continue just as before the Church split and went astray, when they were safe and secure. Members were striving to keep the physical structure in tact as if nothing had happened. After all, they reasoned, how could all of these people be wrong? How many of our brethren from yesteryear were there just for the social life, and how many stayed in the Church because they really didn’t care about doctrine? It’s a serious question we must all take the time to ponder in our minds!

This is from an article that makes me think about what has happened to the Church of God in this world today and what we should dwell on about attendance to the true Church of God. No group is perfect.  This article will help us to see how we should think and act like a Philadelphian Christian, which we claim to be.

I want to be in the Philadelphian era of the Church of God all the way to the end of this age. With all that is happening in this country I feel the end may be closer that I thought.
